Futureproof es una canción de Nothing but thieves. Producido por Richard Costey (Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, Muse) y grabado entre los estudios RAK de Londres y el estudio casero del guitarrista y teclista Dom, es un tema siniestro, dinámico e imprevisible que examina el significado de la autopreservación a través de la letra.
La banda dice: "'Futureproof' trata de la autopreservación, de lo que significa para diferentes personas y de lo que esas personas harían para conseguirlo". "Está diseñada para ser un híbrido de rock de guitarra y hip hop. Eso puede ser un poco complicado y es fácil equivocarse, pero hay un paralelismo entre algunas de nuestras canciones más pesadas y el lado más agresivo del hip hop, al que queríamos llegar. Es oscura y cromática y luego se mezcla como un tema de hip hop con la batería y las voces fuertes. La idea era intentar explorar ese territorio de la manera más auténtica y fresca".
Lanzamiento y estreno del video oficial dirigido por Jake Jelicich el 8 de junio de 2021. En el audiovisual se ve a la banda ofreciendo una actuación intensa que se filma de forma caótica, a juego con la energía y el desasosiego de la canción.
