Chloe and the next 20th century es el quinto álbum de estudio de Father John Misty. Sale vía Sub Pop y Bella Union. Se trata de una colección de 11 pistas con producción de Jonathan Wilson y del propio Josh Tillman. Mezclado por Dave Cerminara, incluye arreglos de Drew Erickson.

Para el anuncio del lanzamiento, su sello, Bella Union, envió un vinilo flexible a varios seguidores de su lista de correo. Cuando los destinatarios reprodujeron el disco, fueron recibidos por un pasaje hablado que detalla Chloe and the next 20th century.

Como primer avance, Funny girl. Dan continuidad Q4, Goodbye Mr. Blue y The next 20th century.

Formatos: digital, vinilo, CD y casete. Además una edición de lujo limitada en un libro de tapa dura con ilustraciones expandidas y con singles extra de 7"; incluye versiones de pistas del álbum, "Buddy's rendezvous" por Lana Del Rey y "Kiss me (I loved you)" por Jack Cruz.

Debuta en el número 2 de la lista británica de discos.

Elegido el cuarto mejor álbum del año 2022 por la publicación estadounidense Time.
