Como explica el líder Paul Klein: "Comencé a componer 'If this is the last time' a finales de 2019. Me inspiré inicialmente en la inevitable noción de que mis padres faltarán en algún momento... que levantar el teléfono y llamar a mi madre es un lujo que no siempre tendré. Al comenzar 2020 y enfrentarnos a una pandemia global y a toda una nueva realidad, tuve meridianamente claro que era imperativo terminar este tema y pulirlo... ya que quizás esta sea una canción en la que la gente se pueda apoyar".
