Hablando sobre la canción, Ellie explica: "Grabarla fue como una catarsis, me hizo sentir mucho mejor, como si el premio fuera yo misma. En lugar de poner todo mi empeño en estos hombres, esta canción fue mi primera sensación de evasión y empoderamiento directos. Cuando escuché la canción, me enamoré de ella. La idea de añadir el coro y las cuerdas al final era que se convirtiera en un momento triunfal de libertad, como saltar de un acantilado. Para mí, suena como una rendición. Suena como dejar que suceda. Por eso se llama Destiny, suena como que lo que tenga que ser, será, y hay que aceptarlo".
