Motivation es el cuarto adelanto del álbum Day and night de Carly Rae Jepsen (2026). Es una incisiva reflexión sobre los patrones heredados y el precio de llegar a ser uno mismo. Jepsen escribió la canción junto a Cole M.G.N., quien la produjo con Kyle Shearer.
"'Motivation' empezó a tomar forma cuando volví a mi ciudad natal en otoño y el crujido de las hojas bajo mis pies comenzó a crear este ritmo", explica Carly Rae Jepsen. "Pensaba en mi familia y en lo apasionados que somos todos, en las expectativas tan altas que tenemos los unos de los otros. 'Motivation' se convirtió en mi manera de hacer las paces con todo eso: es nuestro pequeño himno familiar, que reconoce todas esas partes complicadas, aunque espero que también pueda convertirse en un himno para las familias que se eligen".
Estreno del videoclip oficial el 21 de agosto de 2026. Rodado en París, reúne a un diverso grupo de personas para celebrar la conexión que comparten las familias, ya sean de nacimiento o elegidas. Dirigido por Caio Viera, quien también se encargó del correspondiente de 'On wires', el primer single del álbum. En el vídeo participa Gigi Goode, quien saltó a la fama en la temporada 12 de “RuPaul’s Drag Race” y posteriormente se ha consolidado como diseñadora de moda, actriz y modelo.
