Higher power es el primer single del noveno álbum de estudio de Coldplay (2021). Una canción "que comenzó en un teclado pequeño en un lavabo a principios de 2020", producida por Max Martin.
Lanzamiento 7 de mayo de 2021. La banda se conectó para un video chat con el astronauta francés de la ESA Thomas Pesquet, a bordo de la Estación Espacial Internacional. Una actuación a través de una transmisión incluyendo hologramas alienígenas danzantes, lanzada al espacio por Pesquet, quien estrenó el tema a bordo de la Estación Espacial Internacional. El estreno de la canción se produjo tras una conversación en la que se abordaron temas como las similitudes entre la vida durante las giras y la vida en la Estación Espacial Internacional; la fragilidad del planeta Tierra; y si Pesquet ha visto algún extraterrestre.
Estreno del video con letra dirigido por Pilar Zeta, el 19 de mayo de 2021. El video oficial dirigido por Dave Meyers (Taylor Swift, Travis Scott, Billie Eilish) el 8 de junio de 2021. Muestra al combo explorando un colorido planeta de escombros llamado Kaotica, cuya lengua alienígena (kaotican) aparece en el audiovisual y en el diseño de 'Higher power'. Kaotica está habitado por perros robot, hologramas gigantes y una banda callejera de alienígenas bailarines, interpretados por la Ambiguous Dance Company de Seúl.
El 25 de junio de 2021 se estrena el dance video oficial.
